The UK\u2019s prime residential market \u2013 broadly the top 5% to 10% of property by value \u2013 has rebounded surprisingly strongly over the summer months as buyers and sellers activate decisions made during lockdown.

Record levels of demand have been seen in the country and in prime coastal hotspots, as buyers search for more space and lifestyle change, taking advantage of the value gap between city and more rural locations.\xa0 What does this mean for prices?\xa0 And does this spell the end of the city markets, which have long outperformed their country neighbours, or are buyers focused on a different style of urban living?
