This week I meet Louise Cooper, Strategic Development Manager at Coopers Brewery as Coopers prepares to celebrate 160 years of brewing.

Of course, with a name like that Louise is not just the Strategic Development Manager she is also daughter of Coopers Managing Director Dr Tim Cooper and a member of the sixth generation of the Coopers family to have a role in the brewery.

In her role, Louise has taken a lead in managing Coopers’ recently announced $50 million visitor centre, microbrewery and whisky distillery at its Regency Park site.

Having spoken with Dr Tim Cooper many times, this was a special conversation for me, and I was looking forward to the chance to hear from Louise about her introduction to the family business and her approach to carrying such a venerable family name. We talk about the different experiences that succeeding generations bring to a family business, and the unique challenges each faces. You’ll hear about the new visitor centre means to the business and also whether making whisky is sticking to Coopers' knitting.

It’s a great chat, hopefully one of many as the next generation of Coopers comes to guide the business.

Our partners

HPA – Learn how HPA are contributing to a sustainable future of quality beer by watching their virtual hop harvest.

Brewstaff - Brewstaff partners with some of Australia's favourite craft breweries & distilleries to find the best talent the industry has to offer.

If you like what we do at Radio Brews News you can help us out by:

Sponsoring the show

Reviewing us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or your favourite podcasting service

Emailing us at producer@brewsnews.com.au to share your thoughts
