Kali Masi

Chicago's Kali Masi have been churning out some killer punk rock jams for nearly a decade now.  The four-piece outfit have recently released their new album [laughs] via Take This To Heart Records, their first full length album in 4 years.  Drawing easy comparisons to other Mid-West bands like Hey Mercedes, Alkaline Trio or Lawrence Arms, Kali Masi's music is layered with rich, melodic instrumentation, vocal hooks for days, and a pop-sensibility that still stays true to their punk roots.

Sam and John stopped by the show to talk about the history of the band and the origins of the band name, what they've been doing during the pandemic, and to discuss some of their favorite bands coming out of the Chicago area.  We spend some time discussing what touring post-pandemic may looking like, and they give me their 5 "trapped on a desert island" albums.
