P.I.D. Radio 2/11/13: Next Up, Peter the Roman

Published: Feb. 12, 2013, 2:05 a.m.

IN A move that surprised casual observers, Pope Benedict XVI announced today that he is resigning the papacy effective February 28, 2013. The last pope to resign, rather than die in office, was Gregory XII in 1415, in the midst of a crisis known as the Great Western Schism.
What does this mean for the Roman Catholic Church? And how does this relate to the so-called Prophecy of the Popes, attributed to the 12th-century Irish monk St. Malachy?
Cris Putnam, co-author of Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope is Here, discusses this development — and why non-Catholics should even bother to pay attention.
Sharon and Derek are presenters at the upcoming Chicago Summit #3, with Russ Dizdar, L.A. Marzulli, Doug Woodward, Rob Skiba, Doug Hamp, and Tom Dunn of the Josiah Project.  Details online here.
