John Jurica completed his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and\xa0his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois at Rockford. While in practice he\xa0completed a Master\u2019s Degree in Public Health at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
He began doing side jobs while in practice as a hospital utilization management physician advisor and a medical director for a family planning clinic and an occupational medicine clinic. He worked as the VP for Medical Affairs and then full-time as the Chief Medical Officer for a 300-bed independent nonprofit hospital outside of Chicago Illinois, leaving clinical medicine completely for 4 years. He now works part-time as a co-owner and Medical Director for an urgent care network.
In 2017, he began producing a weekly podcast called Physician Nonclinical Careers with John\xa0Jurica, where he presents interviews and solo episodes addressing physician burnout and moral\xa0injury, unconventional jobs and careers for physicians, and related topics. He also runs\xa0mastermind groups, annual live online summits, and an online platform the Nonclinical Career\xa0Academy and MemberClub.
