When you say a drug name, have you ever second-guessed yourself?\xa0 Maybe you went to YouTube, listened to a lecture by an \u201cexpert,\u201d and presumed they got it right, only to say that drug name at work yourself and got laughed at or corrected?\xa0 That\u2019s frustrating!\xa0 Been there, done that.\xa0

Whether you\u2019re a pharmacist, a pharmacy tech, a student, a professor, a voice actor in the medical space, a patient, or someone else, if you want help learning drug name pronunciations, you\u2019re listening to the right podcast series! \xa0

During these pronunciation episodes, I share at least two drug names: one generic (non-proprietary) drug name and one brand-name drug.\xa0

Resources are important.\xa0 Pharmacists love to look up whatever we don\u2019t know, right?\xa0 So, knowing THE RIGHT resources is key.\xa0 I share the sources of the intended pronunciations of the drug names mentioned on the podcast. \xa0

I say the drug name, break it down into syllables, explain which syllable or syllable(s) have the emphasis, reveal the source of the information, and put the written pronunciation in the show notes so that you see the drug name that you heard on the podcast, and use it right away.

There\u2019s a lot of misinformation online.\xa0 The key to success is using reliable sources of information so you can get it right.\xa0 Note:\xa0 we all have different accents and primary languages.\xa0 \u201cGetting it right\u201d might sound slightly different to different people.\xa0 Get it right for you so you can communicate effectively in your practice setting.\xa0 Learning drug names doesn\u2019t have to be frustrating, and you will sound confident when you get it right.\xa0 You got this! \xa0
