Cryptocurrency is really hot right now and it's important that we know what it is, what it does, as well as the technology behind it, which is blockchain. Even though the prices have been plummeting for a couple of days now, I'm still bullish in this "new" type of investment. Yes, it's still highly speculative and the market is really volatile, but we can check the fundamentals of the project to make sure what we're buying is actually trying to solve a problem. Here are some of the key terms/points that we want to understand: Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Centralized financial system, Decentralization, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), Cross Border Payments, Bitcoin, altcoins and stablecoins. This episode is just a brief background/history and overview of what cryptocurrency is and how it started.
