073: Burning Questions on Impacts of Humans on Biodiversity, Ecosystems, and Climate - Dr. John Harte

Dr. John Harte holds a joint pro\xadfes\xadsor\xadship in the Energy and Resources Group and the Ecosys\xadtem Sci\xadences Divi\xadsion of the Col\xadlege of Nat\xadural Resources at the University of California at Berkeley. He received his PhD in Theoretical Physics at the University of Wisconsin. He completed a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship at CERN in Geneva and a Post\xaddoc\xadtoral Fel\xadlowship at the Uni\xadver\xadsity of Cal\xadi\xadfor\xadnia. He served on the faculty at Yale University before accepting a position at UC Berkeley. John has received many awards and honors during his career, including elected fellowship to the Amer\xadi\xadcan Phys\xadi\xadcal Soci\xadety and the California Academy of Sciences, a Pew Schol\xadars Prize in Con\xadser\xadva\xadtion and the Envi\xadron\xadment, a Guggen\xadheim Fel\xadlow\xadship, Phi Beta Kappa and University of Colorado Dis\xadtin\xadguished Lec\xadtureships, the Leo Szi\xadlard prize from the Amer\xadi\xadcan Phys\xadi\xadcal Soci\xadety, the UC Berke\xadley Grad\xadu\xadate Men\xadtor\xadship Award, a Miller Pro\xadfes\xadsor\xadship, and a George Polk award in investigative journalism. John is here with us today to tell us about his journey through life and science.
