Own It! 236 | Clare Hanbury: Own It! Goes to Africa

Published: July 19, 2019, 7 a.m.

Listener guest Clare Hanbury takes Own It! with her when she travels all over the world with her charity, Children for Health.

In The Show

Nicola has been without internet for nearly a week but her new website went live today. Yay! What do listeners think? She’s invited those in the Own It! Facebook Group to let her know.

Judith has moved into gorgeous spacious luxury in beautiful Suffolk and is looking after a lovely little furry soulmate called Gracie who greeted her with vomiting up her breakfast.

What’s Fuelled Their Fire?

Judith is staying in the home of a writer which has caused her to think long and hard about communication in the written word, books, instructions, information and more.

Nicola is excited to see whether the new version of her website performs better than her old one when it comes to Google Ads.

Focus Of The Week

Listener guest Clare Hanbury takes Own It! with her when she travels all over the world with her charity, Children for Health. She shares why she enjoys the podcast on her travels in Mozambique and beyond, and the four things she’s learned from listening which she’s converted from a business context to being of value to her in the social sector: partnership, measurement, taking care of herself and marketing/selling.

Words Of The Week

Nicola chooses Patience and Judith picks Words.

Project Updates

Nicola is very pleased with increasing podcast download numbers, and Judith has no time for projects having moved house twice in eight days.

Who Or What’s Impressed

There are some lovely social goings-on in the 38 degree temperatures in Stoupa this week which are impressing Nicola, a street-dancing competition plus the ninth Maniacs race which involves both running and swimming. Judith is enjoying the partnership of Andy Murray and Serena Williams at Wimbledon, plus a programme on BBC iPlayer which is two shows about the history and workings of the Bank of England.
