Interview with Brian Gorman
Every so often, I\u2019ll have coaches or consultants on the One Sharp Sword podcast who parallel the work that I\u2019m into. The reason I choose to bring them on is to amplify a particular message. We can get to the same place and take different paths to get there.
\nAnd that\u2019s part of the message I want to bring as I introduce you to Brian Gorman. In doing work with leaders and organizations, he\u2019s quick to point out that \u201cit isn\u2019t the organization that changes. It\u2019s people.\u201d
\nIn the same way that I ask my clients to think about what they would treasure and encourage listening to the whispers, Brian succinctly queries, \u201cWhat makes your heart sing?\u201d And I love that question so much because it implies that joy is within the answer!
\nBrian brings a perspective few of us have, simply because of the extra years that he\u2019s lived. He says he gained an awareness of disparity, a phrase I love because it demands action or deliberate inaction.
\nCulture isn\u2019t part of an organization, it lives inside of people.
\nPeople have memories, desires, and biases.
