- David is thinks he's nailed acting older than he really is... until he meets Steerforth's butler, Littimer.
- Steerforth take off to the boat-house and interrupt the news that Ham and Emily are engaged.
- Steerforth charms everyone - but hints at being a jerk by saying that Emily is good-lookin and she shouldn't marry a 'knuckle head' like Ham.
