Vengeance and Retribution Are Mine: Community, the Holocaust, and Abba Kovner's Avengers\xa0(Pardes, 2019) is a book by Israeli historian\xa0Dina Porat\xa0on\xa0Nakam, a small group of Holocaust survivors led by\xa0Abba Kovner\xa0which sought violent revenge against Germans. She chose the title to express her belief that humans should leave revenge for God. It was first published in 2019 by\xa0Pardes Publishing\xa0in Hebrew, and is the first scholarly book on Nakam.\nDina Porat is an\xa0Israeli\xa0historian. She is\xa0professor emeritus\xa0of modern Jewish history at the Department of Jewish History at\xa0Tel Aviv University\xa0and the chief historian of\xa0Yad Vashem.\n Dr.\xa0Yakir Englander\xa0is the National Director of Leadership programs at the Israeli-American Council.
