\n\nIn which the professor discusses Galdor\u2019s intent again, and the word \u201ctrove.\u201d Elrond introduces Gandalf and it is discussed why he uses the name \u201cGandalf\u201d instead of \u201cMithrandir.\u201d It\u2019s discussed why Gandalf took so long to decipher the identity of Bilbo\u2019s ring. Gandalf acknowledges that it did take too long, but at least Sauron was even slower on the uptake. Gandalf talks about his consultation with Saruman and his trip to Dol Guldur and facing the necromancer. Saruman refuses to believe that Bilbo\u2019s ring is the One Ring. Does Saruman blame/credit Ulmo for the \u201cdisappearance\u201d of the ring into \u201cthe sea\u201d in his passive conjecture?
