I wanted to get to know Eden Grinshpan a little bit better before today’s interview, so I did want any modern journalist would do: I searched YouTube. If you haven’t met the host of the Cooking Channel’s series, “Eden Eats,” which airs Fridays at 10 p.m., do what I did and search “Eden Grinshpan” on YouTube. Look for a video simply titled with her name; it’s 7 minutes and 52 seconds of personal charm and food delights from around the world. Go ahead – do it now. We’ll wait in the kitchen. Back? Great. Wasn’t that cool? EDEN GRINSHPAN audio excerpt: "We are eating dishes on Eden Eats that are passed down from generation to generation. There is so much personal significance. We hear all about their lives."  I was interested in talking with Eden because, on a recent episode of “Eden Eats,” she invaded my adopted hometown, Tampa, to sample our culinary delights. My only issue is this: on the website for this episode of her show, the Cooking Channel says Tampa was “once a small fishing village.” I’ve heard it called many things over 35 years of being a resident in the area – Cigar City, for example, or The Big Guava – but never “a small fishing village.” I think they meant Tarpon Springs, which is a small Greek fishing village also known for its sponge divers. A lovely place, it is actually about a 30- to 40-minute ride from Tampa. I’m just sayin’…   Eden Grinshpan • • •
