Ep 38: Part of Being a Human

Published: March 6, 2019, 2 p.m.

Did you know that all humans suffer?\nEven the pretty ones, and the ones that seem to have perfect lives?\nYep. No one is immune.\nWhen we experience negative emotions like insecurity, anxiety, shame, loneliness, or depression, how we think about it really matters.\nIf we think negative emotion is a problem and something has gone wrong, then it's problematic.\nIf we believe that negative emotion is a part of being human, we're supposed to experience challenging things, and it's part of being human, THEN we gain access to peace. This is how we claim power to "accept the things we cannot change (instead of fighting and resisting and stressing over things that we have no control over), have courage to change the things we can (how we are thinking about it), and have wisdom to know the difference" (Serenity Prayer).\n"Peace is not the absence of trouble. It's the PRESENCE of Christ."
