\nIn today's episode we are joined by Andrew Farrugia from Mirror Friendly. Andrew is a former sprinter, and he is now a fitness athlete and personal trainer.\xa0He has helped countless people get back into shape, and has also helped other athletes who want to compete in their sport.
\n
\nApart from being a fitness fanatic, Andrew has a demanding job as the CFO of a busy marina in Malta. We discuss work-life balance as we can all learn from Andrew on this topic. After a hard day's work as CFO, Andrew always manages to find the time to hit the gym for around 2 hours to complete his training and help others.
\n
\nIn this episode, we discuss SMART goals, the importance of lifestyle and long-term changes rather than fads and diets. We talk about the importance of food when we embark on a transformative journey.
\n
\nWe also get into measurement and tracking, and how important that is to\xa0check that we are making progress every week.
\n
\nLater in the episode we dig deeper into the question of food and its preparation. It turns out that food is way more important than training in building a healthy body, although the two go hand in hand. I think many people underestimate the role of food.
\n
\nAnother problem that we tackle is late night snacking. Jean manages to stay away from the bad stuff by simply not keeping any unhealthy foods in the cupboards at home.
\n
\nWe also talk about the fast food culture versus mindfulness. Jean gives the example of how he uses his morning coffee making routine as part of his meditation.
\n
\nWere you aware of how much sugar is in your drinks?
