Today, maDCap visits with the profound and prolific novelist T.C. Boyle. His 25th work of fiction is titled "The Harder They Come," and if you're already humming Jimmy Cliff, keep listening because it's in here. If you think T.C. Boyle didn't do that on purpose, you don't yet know him well enough. \n\nThe Hudson Valley native has been going westward for many years, first earning a Master's degree at the Iowa Writer's Workshop and eventually planting roots in Southern California, where he was crucial to the founding of USC's Creative Writing Program in 1978.\n\nAbove all, T.C. Boyle wants to create and refine his art every day. He wants to do it his way, unabashedly so, and with such ability to translate our world's paradoxes to the page, we hope he keeps on going for 25 more...at least.\n\nThis conversation was enabled by the good folks at the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, hosting an event in Washington DC with T.C. Boyle on Friday, March 27th at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, located across the street from the Folger Shakespeare Library. \n\nThe event begins at 7 PM and the address is 212 East Capitol Street, NE Washington DC.\n\nFor more information visit http://PenFaulkner.org\nhttp://penfaulkner.org/2014/08/28/tc-boyle/\n\n"The Harder They Come" is available on Ecco books, an imprint of HarperCollins, in hardback, digital and @harperaudio_us on March 31st. \n\nhttp://harpercollins.com/9780062349378/the-harder-they-come\n\nSpecial thanks to T. C. Boyle, PEN/Faulkner, Ecco Books, and especially Lily Meyer, Ashley Garland and our narrator, Andy Duke.\n\nphoto credit: Jamieson Fry\n--\nmadcapdc.org | twitter.com/madcapdc | fb.com/madcapdc
