Cody Simpson: where he's been and where he wants to be

Published: June 24, 2015, 3:42 p.m.

We went to Firefly Music Festival and had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Cody Simpson. There we sat, in Dover, DE in a tent that gave its strongest attempt at shielding us somewhat from the humidity. Cody spoke to us about his new album, Free and what it means to him. He also sheds light on who influences him and what he's learned along his journey. The kid is kinda wise for being only 18. \n\nEnjoy.\n\n"True" by Spandau Ballet\n"Free" by Cody Simpson\n"Love" by Cody Simpson\n"Thrasher" by Neil Young\n"Raag Basant" by Ustad Rashid Khan\n"Don't Wanna Be Your Girl" by Wet\n"Lenny" by Stevie Ray Vaughan\n"Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison
