COUCH – SHARKBOY UPDATE
Earlier this week I suggested that sports minister Nathi Mthethwa should dip into his R22 million flagpole fund and spend some of the money on rewarding Banyana Banyana. Well yesterday a Cape Talk listener had a different suggestion for the minister about where some funds could be put to good use – in helping a former sporting hero who has fallen on desperate times.
Now we’ve told you before about the ongoing efforts to fundraiser for the Hassiem family, and I want to get a quick update today. Among the many people who have been trying to help are Cape Town’s open water swimmers. Shoneé Cornelissen is the chairperson of the Cape Long Distance Swimming Association
