Garden Soul --- John 15:1-3 It's a new series! We move from the imagery of water to a garden. Matt chooses a simple beginning: Jesus says "I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener." As with all of Jesus' metaphors, this one is selected as a familiar one for his people. But not so much in the way you might think. Scripture has used the image of the vine before, but it hasn't been in a positive context. Once again, Jesus is the redeemer of the biblical narrative.
