During this season of Lent, we're going to turn to the seven Woes of the Pharisees that Jesus delivers to the highest religious authorities of the day. He begins by calling them out for being hypocrites and hindrances to genuine relationship with the Father. But lest we nod our heads and enjoy the catharsis of Jesus telling off stuffy antagonists, we have to remember that we are and have always been those same hypocrites Jesus reprimands.
