\nBryan Vogt here! If you love historic homes as I do then the street you will want to live on is St Louis Street in Edwardsville. It has over 50 homes to die for! The first home on the street was built way back in 1809 by John Lusk. It was one of the most prestigious sections of all of Edwardsville in the 1800s and nothing has changed that in the 21st century! In the beginning, it was considered the place for the most prominent residence to live. But initially, you could only build on the south side of the street. But in 1883 Judge Joseph Gillespie decided to divide the land on the north side and sell it. The lots weren\u2019t as large as the south side, but the homes were just as beautiful. While there were many architectural styles built on the street. The Queen Anne style was the most popular.
