The Serpent and the Wings of Night
This week, we\u2019re discussing The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent. Oraya has spent her entire life feeling like prey as a human and the adopted daughter of the king of the Nightborn vampires. She has trained for nearly as long to compete in the Kejari, a tournament honoring their goddess Nyaxia, with the intention of winning and gaining a wish granted to the Victor by Nyaxia herself. Oraya\u2019s goal: to be able to share in her father\u2019s power and finally feel safe in a world full of predators. Her plans get a complicated though when she meets Raihn Ashraj, a fellow competitor in the Kejari who offers to ally with her for part of the tournament. By all accounts, he should be her enemy and Oraya should keep her distance, but what alarms her more than staying in a palace with a horde of vampires, who want to kill her, is her growing attraction to the sexy vampire who wants to keep her alive.
