Episode 86 We discuss empowerment, democratic leadership, and the value and worth of employees.\xa0\n\nQuestions for Leadosophy and our listeners:\n\n1. How far should a leader, a leadership team, extend empowerment throughout the organization? Who should have a say in the direction of the organization? \xa0\n2. Beyond the HR department, who should be involved in hiring and firing decisions? If your org plans on hiring a new director of marketing, should the most senior person in the marketing department have a voice in that decision? If you answer yes, why not extend that to the next most senior person in the marketing department? Where does the road to DM empowerment end, where does it begin?\xa0\n3. Should an employee's worth or value to the organization directly correlate to how much say he or she has on organizational decisions even if that employee is not a member of the senior leadership squad?\n4. If one of your employees wants to get involved in recruiting efforts, is this ok? Are you currently an employee who sees yourself as an ambassador for your organization? By ambassador I mean, you explicitly go out of your way to represent your organization in a positive light. If not, why? If you\u2019re in a leadership role, are you creating the conditions within your sphere of influence that make people want to be around you and your organization? That makes people want to recruit others to come work with you?\n5. Are you open to feedback about employee treatment? For example, your organization has a retention issue. Would you seek feedback from multiple layers of your organization? Take a sample from various layers? And conversely, if you are in one of those layers currently, do you feel like your voice would be heard? If not, why?\xa0\n\nReferences\n\nhttps://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31505883/aaron-rodgers-issue-green-bay-packers-philosophy-not-jordan-love\n\nhttps://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/aaron-rodgers-press-conference-transcript-staying-with-packers-mulled-retirement-amid-frustrations\n\nSeason One: Foundations of Leadosophy Leadosophy is the fusion of leadership and philosophy.
