As Christian writers, we have a target on our backs. There\u2019s a spiritual enemy who wants to thwart our attempts to write words that outlast us. If you\u2019ve been writing for God\u2019s glory for any length of time, you\u2019ve no doubt experienced those days when it seems like you\u2019re being triple-teamed by demonic resistance.

It wasn\u2019t long after King David (another Kingdom writer) took the throne when he faced resistance from a neighboring enemy,

\u201cWhen the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they mobilized all their forces to capture him. But David was told they were coming, so he marched out to meet them.\u201d (1 Chronicles 14:8)

In a similar way, we could say, \u201cWhen the enemy of our souls heard that [Insert your name] became a Kingdom writer, they mobilized all their forces to capture him/her.\u201d

What happened next is a great blueprint for each of us to follow. The first thing David did was ask the Lord what he should do. He knew God was the true King. This sensitivity to the Lord\u2019s leading led to the following result,

\u201cSo David and his troops went up to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. \u201cGod did it!\u201d David exclaimed. \u201cHe used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood!\u201d So they named that place Baal-perazim (which means \u201cthe Lord who bursts through\u201d).\u201d (1 Chronicles 14:11, Emphasis mine)
