b'Practically everyone agrees the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis was abhorrent and unjustified. But sadly, he joins a list of victims like Philando Castile killed after a routine traffic stop or Eric Garner who died in a similar fashion, accused of selling illegal cigarettes. Police departments are now teaching de-escalation skills, the use of non-lethal tactics, diversity training and enhanced screening of police recruits. However, ongoing incidents of police using excessive force persists.\\xa0Brad discusses, beyond training and screening, what can be done to reduce these needless deaths.\\xa0He also raises the thorny issue of how we have become more divisive as a country, intolerant of those who do not agree with us -- and who look different from us.\\xa0Police officers are only human, but the loss of empathy for fellow human beings, regardless of whether the person may have committed violent act, means we will continue to have these senseless deaths.\\xa0Just like fighting COVID-19, we must work together, despite out differences, and help each other in times of need.
