Today\u2019s story, \u201cWinter Dreams,\u201d is considered one of Fitzgerald\u2018s finest stories and is frequently anthologized. Writing his editor Max Perkins in June 1925, Fitzgerald described \u201cWinter Dreams\u201d as \u201ca sort of first draft of the Gatsby idea.\u201d
