Time - The Most Valuable Commodity (TIME)

b'So what is the most valuable commodity in your life? You might say that it is your family, your kids, your highly polished sportscar that come to the top of the list of this category. However, i would say that this is wrong. In fact I wouldn\'t just say that you are wrong, but you are you so wrong it\'s untrue. Although these things are precious to you, I think the most valuable commodity in your life is time. Agreed? Time is something that is given to us right at the very start with no clear indication as to how much we have actually ever been given. We didn\'t get a chart that says "Ok you are here.....follow your finger to the end." The time that you have on this planet is running out from the moment that you pop your head out from deep within your mother. There is no pause button. There is no way to wind back the hands of time and get it back. It\'s strange then that we all are focused on everything else in our life, but not overly on the hands of life running down the time that we have left on this planet. The time that we have to create our legacy and leave our mark on this planet. Let me ask you a question "What did you do today with your life?" Was it amazing, stimulating, exciting or just a few connected hours that ran between the time you opened your eyes to closing them again? If its the droopy eyes scenario then that doesn\'t sound like this most useful spending of the most valuable commodity does it? Steve Jobs the late founder of Apple, said many remarkable things as you will have heard on Join Up Dots, but during his commencement speech in 2005 he spoke these words about the use of time, and why he considers it as the most valuable commodity mankind has. If these words don\'t frighten you into taking action then I don\'t know what will. “I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself, ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘no’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever used to help make the big choices in life. Almost everything—all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure—these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. “Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” So do you know what you are going to spend your most valuable commodity on tomorrow? It better be something good, as it will be the most expensive investment that you have ever made full stop.'
