Someone has said, "I think we all have empathy.\xa0 We may not have enough courage to display it.\u201d\xa0\xa0\n\nMaybe we do need courage\u2014the courage demonstrated by the Good Samaritan\u2014to show our empathy to others, especially those who are different from us.\xa0\xa0\n\nShould that be the case, then may our prayer be this: \u201cGod, grant me the wisdom, and God grant me the courage, to empathize with the pain and suffering of others, even as I want others to empathize with me.
