Artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight (Musical Director), Teena Marie, The Gap Band, Envoge, Jody Watley (Musical Director), Booker T Jones (Booker T & The MG\u2019s), The Jazz Crusaders, Otis Day & The Knights all have one thing in common. That's Morris O'Connor.
When the biggest names in Entertainment need "that sound", they call Morris for his dynamic ability in genres ranges from R&B, Rock, Fusion, Blues, Brazilian, Jazz and many other styles.
Morris is currently touring with Earth, Wind & Fire as their lead guitarist and background vocalist. He's recorded and composed music for EWF as well as recorded & performed their intricate guitar work both live and in the studio.
From 1996 until 2013, Morris performed with legend, multi grammy-winner and musical genius, Stevie Wonder. Morris notes Stevie as a "true inspiration" since he started playing music at the young age of six. Destiny would have it that Morris' talent would bring him center stage alongside his childhood inspiration, Mr. Stevie Wonder.
Morris was first inspired to play guitar when he heard Jimmy Hendrix at the age of 8. Growing up in a musical family in Chicago, he played guitar throughout High School with the \u2018All City Jazz Band\u2019 and decided to move to Los Angeles at the age of 19 to pursue his musical career. He attended and graduated from the Musician\u2019s Institute (GIT).
Morris formed his own Production Company , \u201cMojamm Production, Inc.,\u201d in 2005. He writes and produces original music for Albums, Artists, TV-Shows and Films. His musical composition can be heard on the compilation CD \u2018G-Fire\u2019, as well as many others.
Morris co-wrote the Theme Song for the movie \u2018Hollywood Shuffle\u2019 and was featured on-camera during his performance as actor & musician in the Tina Turner smash-hit movie "What\u2019s Love Got To Do With It." He most recently co-wrote the song \u2018Belo Horizonte\u2019 on the "Now, Then and Forever" album by Earth, Wind & Fire.
