He\u2019s judged prestigious competitions, including the Wines of Portugal Challenge and Decanter World Wine Awards. His writing appears in World of Fine Wine and Lonely Planet. Recognized as a Rising Star Sommelier by StarChefs in 2007, WSET\u2019s Outstanding Alumni in 2017, and a Wine Business Leader by Wine Business Monthly in 2021, Tidwell earned the Master Sommelier Diploma in 2009.
