Vancouver Irish Movie
Short film documents locals who are embracing the original Irish language Idir Muir agus Sp\xe9ir, which means Sea to Sky in Irish, was released in March ahead of St. Patrick's Day My name is Damian McElgunn and I am originally from Ireland, but now live in Canada. I recently made a short film in the Irish language which highlights Irish speakers in Vancouver. Like myself, many of these speakers learned Irish in Canada, and I think this is a great inspiration for anyone learning any new language. Learning to speak Irish has created a connection for me to the country that I was born and raised, to its rich culture, stories and music. I am looking for funding to help me make more short films to record the stories of people speaking the Irish language across the USA and Canada, and to help in the preservation and revitalization of the Irish language.
