Eithne Dunbar was born in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. Growing up in Ireland, she learned to speak Irish (Gaeilge) from her mother and in school. When she was eleven years old, she lived and attended school for three months in Connemara, where Irish is the everyday language. It was there that she learned to love speaking and singing in Irish. Eithne came to Canada in the seventies and has lived in Brockville, Ontario with her family since 1974. She was a founding member in 1996 of Brockville\\u2019s Irish Cultural Society and President for 10 years. Eithne has been singing and performing Irish music in the Brockville Community with the groups Slainte and later Dublin Road for almost twenty years. Cnuasach Amhr\\xe1n as Gaeilge, A Collection of Songs in Irish was arranged, produced and recorded by Ste\\xe1f\\xe1n Hannigan at Shmooosic Studios, Baltimore, Ontario. Accompaniment to the songs is by Ste\\xe1f\\xe1n Hannigan (percussion, strings, wind instruments squeezebox and of course Uilleann pipes) and Saskia Tomkins (fiddle, cello and nyckelharpa).
