Deirdre MulrooneyAn isolated Ojibway First Nations reservation in Northern Ontario, Canada is the setting for \\u201cOgoki \\u2013 Call of the Wild\\u201d. It was here in the 1970s and 80\\u2019s that the Mulrooney Family, from Limerick lived for seven years. Over two decades later Deirdre and her mother Mary return to the reservation and hear the Ojibway community share their shocking and moving history. Featuring Pearl Achneepineshkum (nee Wenjack), telling the tragic story of her brother, Charlie Wenjack (subsequently subject of Tragically Hip October 2016 Juno award winning album \\u201cThe Secret Path\\u201d). Deirdre produces and directs her own creative documentaries including \\u2018Dance Emergency\\u2019 (TG4) \\u20181943 \\u2013 A Dance Odyssey\\u2019 (RTE), short dance film \\u2018Lucia Joyce: Full Capacity\\u2019, \\u2018TRUE NORTH\\u2019, and many more BAI-funded, commissioned, and Indie projects with her own production company \\u2018Out There Productions\\u2019. On top of her original academic work, teaching, broadcasting, and original feature radio documentaries, Deirdre occasionally curates exhibitions too, for example the recent \\u2018Mother Tongue\\u2019 at Kilkee\\u2019s Cult\\xfarlann Sweeney. Deirdre is an inaugural UCD Creative Fellow 2019/2020.
