The US-based ICANN has controlled the Internet since 1998, but will soon cede that oversight. In an interview with Wisconsin's Vicki McKenna, IPI's Tom Giovanetti discusses the threat of how some of the world's most repressive political regimes are getting a step closer to a long-held goal of controlling the Internet, and surprisingly why many US companies sound supportive of the idea.
