Patrick Belmont is an Associate Professor in the Department of Watershed Sciences at USU. His research focuses on a fire\u2019s interaction with the landscape that surrounds it, specifically how it affects water formations. Dr. Belmont explains to us the good, the bad, and the ugly that a fire can do to rivers. While fires are necessary for a landscape to grow and flourish, a great number of fires can have a ripple effect that translates all the way to the organisms that inhabit these watersheds.
