Each new collectively agreed upon mistaken recollection is another reason to believe they are right and the rest of humanity are brain dead zombies and NPCs.\n\nNobody believes them. But they have each other and that is enough to allow their echo-chambers to flourish. Social reinforcement is oh so validating. \n\nThey now number in the millions. Millions of transdimensional voyagers forming their own breakaway reality, congealing into their own religion. New denominations from the dominant or traditional expression of religions emerge all the time. These allow the old ways to adjust for modernity. For example, the invention of movable type print had tremendous ramifications for the Roman Catholic Church. This paved the way for the Protestants who had other ideas about the precise meaning of the texts.\n\nIn much the same way, the Mandela Effected are apostates from the dominant religion, the consensus mainstream worldview. They have diverged to form their own religion based on their doctrinal differences.\n\nMiracles, or perfectly explainable phenomenon wrongly attributed to a divine source, are impervious to rational analysis. They are unfalsifiable. Among their own divinely revealed truths, some of their misremembered Bible verses are believed to be Mandela Effects. Much like UFO or Bigfoot witnesses, they have a shared experience the rest of the world cannot understand.\n\nIf a belief in miracles is required by a group in order to a part of the in-group, then those beliefs will persist so long as the echo-chamber can drown out the un-Effected.
