RAQUEL COLE is a seasoned singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has written with some of the finest songwriters in the world, has been featured on Sirius XM\u2019s\xa0The Highway\xa0and has opened up for Country star\xa0Josh Turner and Grammy award-winning legendary group\xa0Diamond Rio. \xa0\n\nRaquel has been perfecting her sound for more than half her young life.\xa0These days she splits her\xa0time between Nashville\xa0and British Columbia. She was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley located in the beautiful province of B.C.\xa0Growing up, Raquel\xa0was attracted to wide-raging influences that included John Mayer\u2019s bluesy sounds, Bryan Adam\u2019s genius lyrics, and Shania Twain\u2019s pop-country tunes.\xa0\n\n\u201cAt a really young age my dad introduced me to The Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, The Guess Who and Randy Bachman. He\u2019s a drummer and he wanted someone to play music with him. When I was nine he bought me my first guitar and it grew from there.\u201d\xa0 This led Raquel to her love of songs and songwriting. \xa0An accomplished guitar player, she added the mandolin to her arsenal as well.\n\nRaquel released her first single \u201cIt\u2019s For Real This Time\u201d which earned her a spot on Sirius XM\u2019s\xa0The Highway.\xa0"Writing songs has always been an outlet for me. This is a very vulnerable song,\u201d she admits.\xa0\u201cIt\u2019s what was going on in my love life at the time and thankfully writing songs is way cheaper than therapy." \xa0\n\nIn September 2015, she won the CCMA (Country Music Association of Canada)\xa0Discovery Award.
