JAKE MATHEWS was born and raised in a northern Ontario town immortalized by Stompin\u2019\xa0Tom Connors for its wild Saturday nights.\xa0He couldn\u2019t have known it then, but one of his early memories foretells his country music future.\n\n\n\t\u201cWhen I was 14, I traveled to Canada\u2019s Wonderland in Toronto and entered this booth where you could record the song of your choice,\u201d\xa0recalls the laid back Sudbury-born singerand songwriter.\xa0\u201cI sang Randy Travis\u2019 song "I Told You So"\xa0and after I recorded it, they played it over the loudspeaker while I hung around with my friends.\u201d\n\n\n\tNow calling Calgary home for the past 18 years, Jake has enjoyed great success at radio with numerous top 20 hits such as\xa0\u201cIf I Had It My Way\u201d,\xa0\u201cBeer Necessities\u201d,\xa0\u201cKings For A Day\u201d,\xa0\u201cTime After Time\u201d,\xa0\u201cI\u2019m Gone\u201d\xa0as well as others - and has received several Canadian Country Music Award nominations.\n\n\n\tJake has had over 50 of his songs recorded by artists in Canada and the US.
