Interview with Braiden Turner of Blackwell
BLACKWELL\xa0returns to radio with their latest single called Welcome To The Country\xa0which has already became a huge favorite when the band performs live!\n\nBLACKWELL is a vocal trio led by singer/songwriter Braiden Turner along with singer/songwriter/guitarist Carey Blackwell and brother Dan Blackwell.\xa0All three are from musical\xa0families. Although Braiden is from Ottawa, much of her life has been spent in the small towns of southern Ontario where her family is from.\xa0Carey and Dan are from Northern Ontario where they began their musical lives\xa0\n\n\u201cSmall town Ontario gives us the perspective of everyday people just like us\u201d says Braiden, \u201cWe know how they think, because that\u2019s how we think\u2026and we can relate to them and they can relate to us! We\u2019re all really very proud of our roots".\n\nWhat else that all three have in common is their love of vocal harmony, original songs, the richness of their roots and their desire to showcase their brand of originality. Carey is also adamant that Braiden be featured out front and that he and Dan play supporting roles.\u201cThat\u2019s where we feel comfortable\u201d says Carey, \u201cBraiden is the perfect vocalist and personality to lead BLACKWELL to where we want to go.\xa0She\u2019s creative, determined and has so much energy it\u2019s scary!\u201d
