215. Super-Sensitivity is Magic (Not a Curse)

Being supersensitive can feel like a curse. After all, everybody just keeps telling us that we need to "stop being so sensitive" and we need to just "calm down" or just "get over it". But the truth is that being supersensitive means that we feel deeply. And that can make things hard, because we end up reacting more to our emotions more than the neurotypical world and then they just really don't get it and end up rejecting us. The problem is that makes us less and less likely to be vulnerable and show our true selves to the world, and that in turn makes us feel more and more disconnected to the people around us. We end up surrounding ourselves with the wrong people, with the kinds of people we think we "should" be. \n\nThe way out is learning to own your super-sensitivity. It's learning to see it as your "magic" and not as your "curse". You need to learn how to use it so that you can truly start showing it to the world in a way that feels safe and ok. Is everybody going to get you? No they are not. However, the only way you fill your world with people who not only get you, but love you, is to learn how to be vulnerable again to show your true gift.
