If learning about British hairdressings heritage and being inspired by all of it's icons matters to you, then I know you're going to love this episode. Joining me today is Andrew Collinge, one of the most celebrated and iconic names to come out of British hairdressing in the last 35 years.
\n
\nChairman and Creative Director of the fourth generation Collinge Hairdressing, this successful North West of England established salon group employees over 120 people. With Andrew formerly crowned twice British Hairdresser of the Year, and along with his wife Liz Collinge was the original make-over team on the new daytime show This Morning, it's awe-inspiring on all that he has achieved in the industry. If you're wondering, "How has Andrew achieved all this and more in his illustrious career?", stick around \u2013 Andrew is about to share with you his amazing story behind it.
\n
\nAndrew's company is steeped in history, dating back to 1910 when Andrew\u2019s grandfather, Wilfred, began his career as a trainee barber and his father, the legendary Peter Collinge, opening the first salon in Liverpool in 1975. In this listen today, we will also get to learn about Andrews early beginnings to his career, and how the heady days of the 80's and 90's saw him and other leading hairdressers of the time become major national celebrities, in this\xa0vintage period of\xa0British hairdressing!
\n
\nNow focusing much of his time overseeing the growth of his salon groups and developing and training the next generation of hairdressers through the Collinge Graduate salons, Andrew says, "Hairdressing is a great gift which we recognise and share." - something that he continues to do in large amounts!
\n
\nAndrew's story is an amazing insight into one one of British hairdressings most iconic and loved names to come out of our industry in the last 35 years. It's a back catalogue to the heritage of our craft, and one that we all owe to ourselves to listen in to. You won't regret it!
