The protest later became known as the Boston Tea Party, but many historians (and coffee afficionados) believe it also sparked an anti-tea\\xa0(read anti-British) sentiment in the colonies. John Adams wrote to Abigail on July 6, 1774 that "...I have drank Coffee every Afternoon since, and have borne it very well. Tea must be universally renounced.
