I make it my point to see movies that interest me and review some. Rotten Tomatoes be darned I am not worried about a critic score I like what I like I AM A FAN. So, part of my ritual when I go see movies is to evaluate trailers in my mind to see what I may or may not want to see and I have found a few that I will go see because I liked them, a few because I am obligated and a few have left me scratching my head.

Frozen 2 – Disney animation is always a good idea to watch first on the big screen. But Frozen 2 is making me slightly nervous because their track record with sequels is pretty sketchy. I mean usually we get these types of sequels straight to video with the Toy Story saga being one of the exceptions to the rule. I hope the story and music is as good as the first otherwise many little kids may want to Let it go….

Child’s Play – REBOOT A cult classic reboot? I am not sure how I feel a bout this. The teaser trailer dropped online and where in my humble nerdy opinion is WHY are we doing this? Making it sound like a company promo video and then with the closure of major toy store Toys R Us I don’t think “Buddy” “Chucky” whatever you want to call him would get through Amazon Delivery or he would be stolen off someone’s doorstep. Since I don’t do Horror this movie will be a hard pass for me and wait until Netflix.

MA – What the hell did I just watch? Nothing personal but the super stalker, motherly acting black woman? She can hack phones and she is terrorizing high school kids? OK I want to say that what makes a horror movie scary is not the level of blood and guts is the idea that it could possibly happen. This is going to be more of a joke than anything I would want to see. Status: Hard pass. Not because it’s horror but because it looks stupid period.

SHAFT - I grew up watching old school Richard Roundtree Shaft movies then I was treated to a Samuel L. Jackson reimagining. Now, this should really be on my wait until it shows on BET or TV One list but we all want to watch the train wreck when it happens. Three generations of SHAFT and the last generation got Shafted because I don’t know how I feel about the comedy elements I saw in the trailer. Definitely Matinee or if Warner Bros/New Line Cinema wants to give me some free passes….
