CIOs work with many senior executives who may be considered "eccentric." CEOs, CFOs and other business leaders often exhibit behaviors that are extreme, unusual, or unpredictable. These behaviors may be the result of a mild, hidden or undiagnosed mental disorder, which occur in one out of four adults. Combine such behaviors with a high IQ, and they often result in the "eccentric executive." This session explores eccentricity and provide practical case examples of how CIOs effectively embrace the benefits and cope with the challenges of eccentricity in the executive suite. This research also explores the reality that many CIOs may themselves be eccentric leaders. To view additional videos from Gartner Symposium IT/xpo, visit http://eod.gartner.com/sym25
