The book is about a legendary storm chaser who, despite never going to college, was a hugely successful engineer who also managed to record the first meteorological data from inside a massive tornado.\n\nThe book has gotten rave reviews. Hampton Sides, the author of \u201cIn the Kingdom of Ice,\u201d said that \u201cThe Man Who Caught the Storm\u201d is \u201ca thrilling tale of Promethean defiance.\u201d The Washington Post said that Hargrove is \u201cone of today\u2019s best science writers\u201d who \u201ctakes the reader not only on a journey through the remarkable life of engineer-explorer Samaras, but also through the beautifully desolate roads of the Plains while on the chase.\u201d\n\nHargrove has written for Wired, Popular Mechanics, and Texas Monthly, among other publications.
