Mark S. Johnson is a Pulitzer Prize winning reporter who covers health and science for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He is also the author of \u201cThough the Earth Gives Way: A Novel.\u201d That book was published in January by Bancroft Press.\n\nThe book is an end-of-days look at a small group of people as climate change has wrecked the planet. \n\nHost Matt Tullis wanted to talk with Johnson about the book, as well as how his journalism career has helped or hindered his ability to write fiction. \n\nJohnson was part of the Pulitzer Prize winning team in 2011 for a series on the groundbreaking use of genetic technology to save a 4-year-old boy. That series was later turned into the book, \u201cOne in a Billion: The Story of Nic Volker and the Dawn of Genomic Medicine.\u201d He wrote that book with Kathleen Gallagher. \n\nJohnson, a Pulitzer finalist three times, continues to write about health and science in Milwaukee.
