Michael and Robin\xa0speak with Jesse Meschuk, global career and HR expert, and Senior Advisor with Exequity, on how companies can navigate the pay transparency movement.\xa0 Jesse share tips on responding to the new legislation and thoughts on where we are going in days to come.\n\nCalifornia recently passed a new bill that requires companies to disclose salary ranges in job postings as of January 1, 2023. This follows similar laws that have been passed in Colorado, Washington, and New York City. The California Bill also adds the requirement to provide salary ranges to current employees upon request and for employers with more than 100 employees, to provide a pay equity report annually showing average wages by job category comparing gender and ethnicity, which is a first for any state but is in line with many countries (most in the EU) which have a pay equity disclosure requirement. The first-of-its-kind annual pay equity reporting poses a series of questions and decisions for employers across the country, as many have a significant presence in California.
