I realized how wrong it is that I have two regional mixes representing Bay Area's hyphy movement- 'hot.block (03.02.06) and Git Stupid Dumb (10.16.06)- before I recognize DC's own local Go-Go scene. How wrong I am!\n\nAs you work your way through this mix you'll be moving back in time; I kick it off with some classic DJ Kool and conclude with Chuck Brown, the acclaimed Godfather of Go-Go. My intention is for this mix to stand on its own, but to also serve as the first half of my funk revival series. Look for the second chapter next time up. \n\nEnjoy.\n\n\nDJ Kool | Put That Hump (In Your Back)\n[Sampled]: Wesley, Fred & JBs | If You Don't Get It The First Time, Back Up and Try It Again, Party\n[Sampled]: Wu-Tang Clan | C.R.E.A.M.\nLittle Benny and the Masters | Cat in the Hat\n[Sampled]: The Beastie Boys | Hey Ladies\nChuck Brown | Take the Go-Go Train\nNortheast Groovers | The Water\nBackyard Band & Rare Essence | Sexy Girl\nChuck Brown | Get Your Hands Up / Playing Your Game, Baby\nRare Essence | Overnight Scenario\nTrouble Funk | Drop The Bomb\nJunkyard Band | Sardines\nChuck Brown | We the People\n[Sampled]: The Beastie Boys | Hey Ladies
