The legendary English record producer, John Fryer returns on the show and this time with the founder of COP International, Christian Petke.
John Fryer started his musical career working at Blackwing Studios in South London in the late 70s where he worked with some of the most prestigious indie labels at the time such as 4AD, Mute, Beggars Banquet, Rough Trade and more. Best known for the dream-pop music collective, This Mortal Coil, along with 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell,\xa0 Fryer helped developed the pioneering ethereal and ambient sound of 4AD.\xa0 Even after 4AD, Fryer's production credits extended decades working with renowned musicians and producing, engineering and mixing\xa0 some of the biggest names\xa0 and some of the most notable albums by Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Cocteau Twins, Yazoo, Love and Rockets, just to name a few.\xa0 He launched his musical project called Black Needle Noise (BNN) in 2016\xa0 where he continues in the spirit of collaboration with various musicians. Christian Petke founded\xa0 COP International in 1991 in San Francisco/Frankfurt to give a home to the emerging West Coast Industrial/Coldwave scenes.\xa0 Within 6 months, COP INT created their German counterpart label 23Frankfurt (Trance, Techno, Chill, House)
The year 2021 marks the COP International's 30th Anniversary with ambitious plans for its expanding roster of artists\xa0 such as Azam Ali,\xa0 Rohn-Lederman, Steven Archer, Chiasm, GW Childs IV, Stabbing Westward, Suicide Queen, Johnny Tupolev, BlackCarBurning, FGFC820,\xa0 Phantom Vision, NolongerHuman, Life Cried, Coldkill, Tactical Sekt,\xa0 Sick Jokes, Dark Drive Clinic, Black Needle Noise, Vaselyne\xa0 and Deathline International, which Petke\xa0 founded (Aka Count Zero).
The label reached a turning point in 2019, teaming up with John Fryer to form a production company under the COP International umbrella.
